Dahlia Mercer has always been different. She got a taste of her powers at a young age, and even though she hid them from the world, not having someone to talk about them with got to her. 

After the tragic death of her mother, Dahlia moves to the island of Broken Bay to live with her estranged grandmother and soon learns that her mother had been keeping a vital secret from her - she's a witch. Not just a witch, though. She had capabilities no one else had in her line.

With the help of her grandmother and new friends, Dahlia learns how to control her abilities better, all the while trying to figure out who the dark entity is that's trying to kill her.
